School backs down in wireless flap
"Administrators at the University of Texas at Dallas are drafting a new
plan
to combat widespread interference across the school's wireless network
after complaints that their original proposal--which prohibited students and
others from setting up certain types of private "hot spots" in campus
dormitories--ran afoul of Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
regulations."

Tech Tonic Report
Two stories by eSchool News discuss a report released on September 30.
One
(Alliance) is about the report and the other (CoSN) a response to
the
report. "The report, called "Tech Tonic" and released by the nonprofit
Alliance for Childhood, claims there is little evidence of long-term benefits
from using computers in schools."
