U.S. Kids Need Media Literacy Education
According to the new report "Thinking Critically About Media: Schools
and Families in Partnership" by Cable in the Classroom, the U.S. must do
more to educate children as media consumers. The authors assert that
efforts to teach media literacy in the U.S. are lacking in comparison to
other English-speaking countries, with various consequences for children
and the public at large. To develop more informed, savvy consumers of
electronic media, schools and parents can use strategies to integrate
media education into life at school and at home. [ENC]
