Tony Streit, Director of the YouthLearn Initiative
at Education Development Center, is an experienced
filmmaker, media artist and instructor who has designed
and led project-based learning activities with youth and educators for
over eighteen years.
As a Senior Project Director at EDC, he also serves as Co-PI for the NSF-funded ITEST Learning Resource Center, is co-leading the evaluation of Adobe Systems Incorporated's new signature grant program promoting youth media making, provides peer training and consultation through the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation’s Afterschool Academies, and is developing professional development materials under the USAID-supported dot-EDU Initiative for educators in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prior to joining
EDC, he was Co-Founder and Co-Director of Street-Level
Youth Media in Chicago, an organization that he helped
build into a nationally recognized model for information
technology access and the media arts. His work with youth has garnered numerous awards including two Emmy nominations and the inaugural Coming Up Taller Award from the Clinton Administration. Tony is also currently an advisor to the National Partnership for Quality Afterschool Learning and the Next Generation Youth Work Coalition. For the last twelve years,
Tony has been an active member of Community
Technology Centers Network (CTCNet), where he currently is on the board of directors and served until recently as Treasurer. Tony is a frequent speaker on youth
development, community technology and alternative media.

Wendy Rivenburgh, an associate with the YouthLearn
Initiative, has years of experience in teaching, curriculum
development, and communications. Her interests include
innovations in informal learning, such as inquiry-based
projects, and the application of technology to educational
programming. Wendy initially joined the community technology
group at Education Development Center in 2000 as an Education
Specialist on the America
Connects Consortium staff. In this capacity, she managed
the AT&T Young Leaders Program. Previously, Wendy taught
English literature and writing courses at the high school
and college level, and worked with young people in academic
enrichment and other extra-curricular activities. She
has also served as a communications professional with
nonprofit educational organizations. Wendy holds a master's
degree in the humanities.

Tim Dorsey is Project Director for the Youth Media Learning Network, a new collaboration between YouthLearn and Educational Video Center (EVC) in New York. Tim is the former Deputy Director of the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission, overseeing communications, fundraising, finance and technology. Before that he was Managing Director for EVC. Tim has an MA from the Middlebury College Bread Loaf School of English and a BA from Georgetown University.

Deidre Searcy, EDC Senior Associate, is a media educator and arts education expert with 20 years of experience developing in and out-of-school curriculum. Just prior to joining EDC, she was Director of the Chicago International Film Festival. She has a Masters in Arts Education from the Art Institute of Chicago. Her previous efforts include work for Street-Level Youth Media, the Community Film Workshop and the Chicago Arts Partnership in Education, frequently working to position media arts as a catalyst for change in inner city schools. Her work with youth has garnered recognition from the National Black Programming Consortium and the National Media Education Association and she served for many years as a board member of the National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture.
