Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth

"The National Endowment for the Arts is committed to providing leadership in arts education by inspiring all young Americans through rich arts experiences. A high quality education in the arts opens a critical gateway to a lifetime of appreciation and engagement. For two reasons, learning in the arts is an indispensable part of American education: 1) children celebrate and participate in their cultural inheritance, and 2) academic and social maturity follow directly from arts education experiences.

Engaging the Innovation Generation

2010 Innovation Generation Grants
"The Motorola Foundation has opened the application process for $7.5 million in grants to U.S. science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programs through its signature Innovation Generation grants program in 2010.

Aligning closely with U.S. President Barack Obama's 'Educate to Innovate' campaign, the Motorola Foundation's Innovation Generation program incorporates funding, employee volunteers and intra-grantee collaboration to boost American student engagement in STEM."

Roads to Success Curriculum

"Roads to Success is a college and careers program for grades 7 through 12.  They offer a research-based grade 7 through 12 guidance curriculum, with student motivation at its core. Roads to Success’ grade-by-grade lesson plans offer a comprehensive, systematic way to address key issues: study skills, career development, reasons to complete and excel in high school, steps to post-secondary education attainment, finding and keeping a job, and financial literacy. The program is designed for delivery in 45-minute, once-weekly sessions executed over 4 to 6 years.
